Meeting feedback
9 March 2021:
- Following
feedback from the Relay Championships and ACT Championships it has been
recommended that the Relay Championships revert to being held on the
afternoon of Speedo Sprint heats with the Speedo Sprint heats being held
in the morning.
- The committee discussed holding information
sessions for swimmers ahead of the primary school regional carnivals
which would cover starting, starts, finishes and basic rules.
- The
committee discussed a range of issues relating to competition and the
winter calendar. A number of clubs have provided papers to the committee
however it was felt that all clubs should have an opportunity to
provide their views to the committee as issues relaing to winter meets,
such as hosting of meets, also needed to be considered for summer meets
leading up to Christmas. The meeting was acutely aware that meets are an
important source of revenue for clubs and this cannot and should not be
ignored.
- The committee agreed to reconvene on Monday 15
February to arrive at a position on the competition calendar for the
remainder of the years and how the associated meets would be managed.
12 November 2019:
- Swim League briefing
- Reviewed the program, terms and condition for the 2020 ACT Championships including the pointscore to be used for the age champions
- Agreed guidelines or development level moving to longer distances
- Discussed general meet staffing issues
- Reviewed recent recent meets and received an update on preparation for upcoming meets.
